Orchard Beach, May 14, 2017. It's Mother's Day and also threatening to rain at any moment; the little girl has the whole beach to herself. This is the north end of the big mile-long horshoe, curving around and ending in a narrow rocky spit, as also does the south end. The WPA put this beach here. Prior to 1934 there were only some scattered islands. Good job too; the beach is still here more than 80 years later.
