Fort Totten in Queens, right across Little Neck Bay from Fort Schuyler. The two forts were to lay crossfire in the event of a British naval attack via Long Island Sound, and later served as coastal defense during the Civil War. Ironically, Fort Totten was designed by Robert E. Lee. Today it's a tourist attraction.
