An aerial view of the area, Manhattan on top and Bronx on the bottom, connected by the McCombs Dam Bridge (left) and the Putnam railroad bridge (right), which was taken down in 1958. The Polo Grounds baseball stadium (demolished in 1964) near the upper right, and Yankee Stadium (moved to the lot next door in 2009), lower left. In the upper left we see the northern portion of Colonial Park: game courts, a comfort station, a running track.
