William (Bill) Karp worked for the Federal Art Project in the 1930s,
creating murals in at least
Bellevue
Hospital and the
Hebrew
Orphan Asylum (which, apropos of nothing, sent 10
volunteers to the International Brigades fighting for the Republic in the
Spanish Civil War). My ex-wife Judy Scott and I were friends of
the family. I took these pictures in 1972 when we were visiting them at
their home off Rumsey Road in Yonkers NY.
