Chelsea Park Milk Station, Manhattan. Pinterest caption says "Milk
station on the 27 St side of Chelsea Park. A cookie cost 3 cents. A paper
cup with a few ounces of milk was 2 cents in the 1940s". Milk stations were
common figures in NYC parks during the first half of the 20th Century; there
were large ones ("dairies") in Prospect Park and Central Park. The latter
still exists but no longer gives out clean milk to babies (its original
purpose). The one shown here was built in 1936; architect: Aymar
Embury II[1]. It no longer exists.

- NYC Parks Department press
release 26 October 1937 mentions another milk station in Mount Morris
Park in Manhattan, Madison Avenue, 120-124 Streets (Marcus Garvey Park
now...) Google Maps shows a small building in that location but I can't
find a picture of it.
