The elegant sit-down restaurant in the middle of the
Orchard Beach Bathhouse and Pavilion.
The
Times article mentioned above says: "When it was built in the
1930s, crowds enjoyed formal dining ... the [bathhouse was] erected at a
time when people dressed up for a day at the beach. Instead of grabbing a
tuna sandwich from the cooler, beachgoers supped in the [bathhouse's] dining
[room], with their white tablecloths and glassware, and donned their suits
in changing rooms."
