Designs for a Public Structure, with a date stamp of
April 2, 1934, says: "Zoological Building in Barrett Memorial Park, Borough
of Richmond. Exterior to be of selected common brick, trimmed with granite,
with steel windows, brick cornice and slate roofs. Ground floor to contain
wings for animals, birds and reptiles with Central Exhibit of tropical
fish. Basement is to contain auditorium, class rooms, kitchen and storage
and Second floor have offices, hospital and laboratory. Estimated cost:
$200,000.00. Location: Approximate center of Barrett Memorial Park, Borough
of Richmond, facing on Broadway.
